If we could all ‘just relax’ I’m pretty sure most of us would be doing it.

For some of us relaxing is something we have to practice.

I’m going to level with you.

I’ve come a loooooong way in terms of healing my nervous system, finding healthier ways to manage stress and navigating feelings of anxiety.

But feeling relaxed and being able to just surrender to what is, is something that I have to put into practice to really embody on a daily basis.

Practice looks like nourishing my body with more of the things that make it feel good and less of the things that put it into over-drive.

Practice looks like carving out time to move and to sit in stillness.

Practice looks like connecting with people that see me, and allowing myself to be vulnerable enough to be seen.

Practice looks like trying to get as much quality sleep as I can, when that’s in my control.

Practice looks like making time to create and time to have fun.

And… practice looks like treating myself with compassion when life happens and I find myself having a day that’s more highly strung than I enjoy it be.

It’s all part of the practice.

What practices do you have in place to help you relax?
